Director Jordan Peele Created A Subreddit For His Us Trailer

A new nightmare. Welcome to r/monkeypawproductions. from r/MonkeypawProductions

Academy Award-winning director of Get Out, Jordan Peele’s latest directorial project had its own specifically created subreddit. Peele created the subreddit to showcase the latest trailer for his horror film Us ahead of it’s Superbowl LIII debut. Us is slated to release this March 22, 2019, after an initial premiere at the 2019 South by Southwest festival in Austin, Texas. Look at the trailer above.

What we know about the film thus far is based on the two trailers and a synopsis, which you can read below.

“A mother (Academy Award winner Lupita Nyong’o from ‘Black Panther,’ ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi,’ and ’12 Years a Slave’) and a father (Winston Duke from ‘Black Panther’) take their kids to their beach house expecting to unplug and unwind with friends (including Emmy winner Elisabeth Moss from TV series ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’). But as night descends, their serenity turns to tension and chaos when some shocking visitors arrive uninvited.”

Peele is quickly turning into the prolific filmmaker of the generation. The first teaser was released for Peele’s The Twilight Zone relaunch during Superbowl LIII. Also announced is the remake of horror scribe Clive Barker’s inspired tale, Candy Man. Peele will produce via his Monkeypaw Productions and will leave directing duties to Nia DaCosta.

Blumhouse will also produce Peele’s latest directorial effort. The production company has produced on Get Out, Us, and Candyman. In January 2019 it was announced that Blumhouse partnered with Hulu to produce a monthly horror anthology series. Though Peele is not attached, it is interesting to watch given the director’s work ethic and obvious skills to serve up the horrible side of cinema. Peele will reunite with Keegan-Michael Key, the co-creator of the Comedy Central series Key & Peele to voice characters in Toy Story 4.

After the windfall of positive response surrounding Peele’s Get Out, anticipation is high for his first theatrical follow-up”. Are you looking forward to Peele’s Us?
