Disney Goes BIG For 2019: Their Complete Slate Of Films

The media giant that will one day rule the planet as Earth’s overlords has released their film slate for 2019. Currently known as Disney, the company has a number of highly anticipated films with two of them, Avengers: Endgame and the still-untitled Star Wars: Episode IX arguably being the most anticipated films of all time. That’s not all though, there’s also the beginning of the Artemis Fowl franchise and the sequel to the famous (or infamous if you hate the music) Frozen.

Here’s the Complete 2019 list:

Captain Marvel – March 8th

This will be the first female-led film from Marvel Studios. The Marvel Cinematic Universe is set to shake things up in the post Endgame era and the titular hero from this film may be the new Tony Stark for it. Despite a lukewarm reception for the two trailers, there is a lot of buzz for this film.

Dumbo – March 29th

One of the three live-action remakes that Disney has set for 2019. This one is coming from the mind of Tim Burton (Alice In Wonderland) and looks like a visually unique film that may be a little on the dark side.

Penguins – April 17th

Who doesn’t love penguins? The March of the Penguins was a huge hit many years ago and Disney is looking to tap into the cuteness with their nature documentary.

Avengers: Endgame – April 26th

What can be said that hasn’t been said already about this upcoming end to the MCU as we know it? Who will survive? Who will pay the ultimate price to save the universe? Is it April 25th yet?

Aladdin – May 24th

The original Aladdin cartoon had one of the most beloved characters of all time, Genie. He was portrayed by the late, and forever memorable, Robin Williams who helped the big blue guy become so revered. Will Smith has a big pair of shoes to fill with his take on the character.

Toy Story 4 – June 21st

After the ending of Toy Story 3 one would think this franchise would be done. However, Pixar and company think they have a fitting story to tell. As emotional as the previous film was many people are rightly concerned over what this sequel will do, especially if it becomes the last one ever.

The Lion King – July 19th

Live remake number three! An amazing cast, that includes James Earl Jones, Donald Glover, and Beyonce, and a visually stunning world is set to smash records at the box office.

Artemis Fowl – August 9th

This new franchise follows a 12-year-old magical genius who comes from a family of master criminals as he tries to solve the mystery behind his father’s disappearance. Magic, kids, and mystery… where have we seen this before?

Frozen 2 – November 22nd

The original movie set records and changed the face of the princess movie forever. Not much has been revealed about this sequel, but it was part of a great post-credit scene for Ralph Breaks The Internet.

Star Wars: Episode IX – December 20th

Following the divisive Episode VIII and the disappointing box office performance of Solo, Lucasfilm has a lot riding on this end to the Skywalker Saga. There have been plenty of rumors and nearly nothing official about the story we will see, but one thing’s for certain… WE WANT A TRAILER!

The House of Mouse could be on a course to break its own domestic revenue record. A record which was set last year when Black Panther and Avengers: Infinity War smashed records and accounted for nearly half of the $3.11 Billion made in North America. There’s no doubt that there’s a $1 billion between Episode IX and Endgame, but The Lion King could be a $600 – $800 million film itself. Either way, we’re set for an entertaining year.
