Disney’s Next Breakout Series The Owl House Trailer Drops | Fine Toon

Since Disney announced the series The Owl House back in early 2018 news has been hard to come by. The wait is slowly coming to an end as the teaser trailer was premiered at the Annecy 2019 panel dedicated to the show. The teaser doesn’t show much and in fact, doesn’t have any dialogue instead opting to go with the route of an underscore highlighting the mysterious fantasy elements of the trailer. This absence of dialogue could hint at the timeline of the production schedule with many of the cast having yet to be announced except for the “Owl Lady” Eda which will be voiced by Jennifer Jiles.

The animation is fantastic with the art style welcoming the audience into the mesmerizing fantasy world of the Demon Realm as can be expected from Dana Terrace  (Gravity Falls, DuckTales). The characters introduced are well designed specifically the trio of main characters Luz, Eda, and King. Though this show has plenty of originality and creating an uncharted world yet to be explored if you look hard enough you will find homages to plenty of preexisting series notably Eda heavily resembling Ryoko from Tenchi Muyo!. Also due to Terrace’s love of the Zelda series, keep an eye out for any Easter eggs from that beloved franchise.

The Owl House is a horror-comedy series that follows Luz, a self-assured teenage human girl who accidentally stumbles upon a portal to the Demon Realm. There she befriends a rebellious witch, Eda, and an adorably tiny warrior, King. Despite not having magical abilities, Luz pursues her dream of becoming a witch by serving as Eda’s apprentice at the Owl House and ultimately finds a new family in an unlikely setting.

There is still a lot to be revealed about this series but do not expect any news until D23 in late August.  Occasional news might be released through showrunner Dana Terrace’s twitter profile where she occasionally releases information such as the show’s delayed 2020 release date.  Fans are already looking forward to this series hoping it replaces the void left behind by finale of Star Vs. the Forces of Evil.
