Does The Black Suit Return For Daredevil Season 3?

When we last saw Matt Murdock, he was being nursed back to health by the Sisters of Saint Agnes after surviving the finale of The Defenders. With season 2 of Jessica Jones currently available on Netflix and season 2 of Luke Cage arriving on the streaming service in late June, curiosity has been circulating as to where the third season of Daredevil will be taking its loyal audience. Now, thanks to an Instagram account, that third season may be featuring an outfit from the past.

An Instagram account by the name @lenottideldiavolo has posted images of actor Charlie Cox on the set, sporting his vintage black suit from the first season. CBR.com ran the story yesterday, pointing out that the shots of the black suit may be a part of flashback angle that season 3 will feature. Earlier reports have featured photos of what seem to be flashback moments that feature Karen Page, which has fueled the potential past moments of Murdock in the black outfit.

The black suit that was predominately featured in season 1 is a direct inspiration from the Frank Miller / John Romita Jr.’s comic book trade Daredevil: The Man Without Fear, from 1993. With the end of The Defenders featuring the scene of Murdock in the care of the nuns, it seems season 3 of Daredevil may feature elements from the Frank Miller / David Mazzucchelli classic 1986 story, Daredevil: Born Again, an angle that focused on the rebuilding of Matt Murdock. Time will tell what future the series’ new showrunner, Erik Oleson, has in store for the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen.
