The trailer for Doom Annihilation is online. Based on the popular 1990’s pc game. This movie marks the second live-action adaptation. Unlike the 2005 adaptation which received a theatrical release, Doom Annihilation will likely be available via a stream online. Death Race 2 and Death Race 3 director Tony Giglio is at the helm. Andrzej Bartkowiak’s 2005 Doom adaptation starred Dwayne Johnson AKA The Rock AKA The Brahma Bull alongside Thor Ragnorak’s Karl Urban.  Watch the Doom Annihilation trailer below.

It’s interesting that we’re getting a relative cast of unknowns. I know Doom is not a game people are breaking their necks to purchase, but that may soon change. Later this year, ID Software is releasing Doom Eternal for the current generation of consoles. ID Software the makers of the Doom Eternal videogame were asked on Twitter what they thought of the trailer. They replied stating they’re not involved with the movie. Either way, I bet hardcore fans of Doom will find some interest in the movie. You can check out ID Software’s Tweet below.

It would be cool to see some classic elements from the Doom universe in this movie. A BFG would be nice. Maybe Doom is just one of those properties that shines best when played. It’s a simple enough concept. A fireball dodging space marine slaughtering wave after wave of Demons on a moon base. What’s not to love? The original inspired a whole slew of FPS videogames. Anyway, it’s good to know the Doom property isn’t dead.
