Doom Patrol: First Look At DC Universe’s Cyborg

Cyborg may have recently made his way onto the Justice League team in recent years in both the comics and on the big screen, but he’s by no means keeping his presence limited to those mediums. As we’ve known for some time, he will also be popping up in DC Universe’s upcoming series, Doom Patrol.

Ironically enough, Victor Stone won’t be associated with the Teen Titans this time around — despite him being largely associated with that group — but, as noted above, it’s not as though he’s been restricted to one team in years past. But how would he look? Well, take a look at the new poster below.

So this is a look that contrasts heavily with what we saw in Zack Snyder’s Justice League. In that film, they relied largely on CG to bring his cyborg aspects to life, but here…it looks to be more of a practical mix. While I never hope for a series’ failure, this looks super cheap, with his chest looking more like an undershirt with a print on it than an actual Cyborg body.

But, of course, this is TV. It’s not like I can expect a feature budget for this thing. But will it work in motion when a simple poster fails to capture Cyborg’s essence? We’ll have to wait and see.
