The Golem: Director Doron Paz on Bringing The Jewish Lore To Life [Exclusive Interview]

A golem can be your protector or your destroyer.

Director Doron Paz, along with his brother Yoav Paz, wanted to bring this Jewish legendary creature to life in The Golem.

The film follows a mystical women, who conjures a construct to protect her Jewish village from foreign hostilities. She’ll soon realize the protector is the far greater adversary.

The film stars Hani Furstenberg, Ishai Golan, Brynie Furstenberg, Lenny Ravich, Alex Tritenko and Adi Kvetner. It is directed by both the Paz Brothers and written by Airel Cohen.

The film is currently playing in limited release in theaters and available on VOD and DVD today.

LRM Online sat down with director Doron Paz, one of the directors of the film. We discussed about the golem in Jewish lore, monster design, production location and the star of the film.

For the past twenty years, Doron Paz has been directing films and television episodes with his brother Yoav Paz. They are better known as the Paz Brothers. They have directed the zombie flick Jeruzalem and TV series of HasufimAsfur, and Fullmoon.
