Dwayne Johnson Says Black Adam Will Start Out As A Villain

Shazam! was another step in the right direction for the previously tomato-plagued DC. Following up a couple other well-received films in Aquaman and Wonder Woman, things are looking up for Warner Bros’ extended universe.

With a sequel being fast tracked, fans hope that it won’t be long before we finally see Dwayne Johnson is a comic book role, and that role is of course Shazam’s arch nemesis, Black Adam. Johnson recently spoke with ComicBook.com and talked about the character. You can check out what he had to say below.

“Black Adam, how he starts, he starts off as a villain. Then, he becomes an anti-hero. And then he might become a hero or we might not.”

DC has done much to correct the course of their films. Personally, I thoroughly enjoyed Shazam! as it was such a differnet kind of DC film that brought the aspect of fun back into the world of DC films. Still no official word on when fans might finally get to see Black Adam on the big screen but producer Hiram Garcia says it will follow Netflix’s Red Notice, which stars Dwayne Johnson.
