Evan Goldberg Gives An Update On Adaptation of Robert Kirkman’s Invincible

While The Walking Dead is preparing to unveil the world’s first naked zombie, another of creator Robert Kirkman’s comic book properties is to soon be given the live action treatment. Evan Goldberg and Seth Rogen were sought last year to bring the comic book, Invincible to the screen. In an interview with Mashable, Goldberg explained their plan to bring fans a faithful adaptation:

“We are definitely telling the classic story of Invincible, and we are doing some directorial things that will make it more dynamic than just the straight-up story. We’ve come up with some conventions that I think will make it a more cinematic experience that fits in the timeframe more. But we’re not reinventing the wheel here, we’re not going to massively change Invincible. The core story of that comic and the core characters are what makes it great.”

Rogen and Goldberg are responsible for the FX adaptation of the comic Preacher, which should comfort fans of Invincible, as the show has been quite successful. Rogen and Goldbergoften work as a pair and have collaborated on a number of projects, including, Pineapple ExpressSuperbadSausage Party, and The Green Hornet.

Invincible follows the teenage superhero of the same name. He is half human and half viltrumite. The character inherited all the powers and abilities of his father, Omni-Man, which include, super strength, super speed and decelerated aging.
