One of the more memorable parts of the Star Wars prequel trilogy was Ewan McGregor’s portrayal of Obi-Wan Kenobi (another being the fantastic Duel of the Fates). Recently there has been news of an Obi-Wan solo film in development over at Disney. Speaking backstage at last night’s Golden Globe Awards, McGregor was asked by reporters the status of the Obi-Wan Kenobi Anthology film:
“There’s a lot of talk, and I’d be happy to play him again, but I don’t know anything more than you do.”

McGregor was seen at last night’s Golden Globes, sporting a very Kenobi-ish beard. Now, this could mean he is preparing to once again play Obi-Wan, or it could just be a coincidence. McGregor hasn’t been shy about making it known he wants to return to the galaxy far, far away. The actor lent his voice to Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and can be heard in Rey’s flashback scene when she grabs Luke Skywalker’s lightsaber at Maz Kanata’s castle.
If you ask me, there is no Obi-Wan anthology film without Ewan McGregor, his involvement is a must if the film is to succeed.
