The inspirational story of Genesis Pontini comes to the big screen with THE DARK HORSE.

It was based on the former child chess prodigy who suffered from bipolar disorder that led time in mental institutions and homelessness. Confronted by his family in a gang, he found refuge by assisting a local children chess club to compete in its national chess tournament.

New Zealand actor Cliff Curtis shines in his role as the chess master coach. Latino-Review sat down with him in an one-on-one interview to promote this wonderful indie drama.

THE DARK HORSE is currently playing in select theaters.
