It’s been a long time coming, but Ray Bradbury’s literary masterpiece Fahrenheit 451 is finally getting a new adaptation. This time around, HBO is doing the honors, with Michael B. Jordan, Michael Shannon, and Sofia Boutella playing the leads in the flick.
HBO has now just released a brand-new trailer for the film, and in it, we get to see the execution of this world brought to life. Of course, some major changes had to be made. In the decades since the book’s publication, the actual vision of the future has become outdated, and as such, that’s had to be updated substantially.
Based on the trailer, the visuals look topnotch, and even the logic behind the burning of the books makes real sense based on this updated aesthetic. And the line about the books being filled with “insanity” is absolute perfection.
The synopsis for Fahrenheit 451 is below:
“Fahrenheit 451 is based on Ray Bradbury’s classic novel. In a future where the media is an opiate, history is rewritten and “firemen” burn books, Jordan plays Guy Montag, a young fireman who struggles with his role as law enforcer and with his “mentor”, played by Shannon.”
