Fanmade Super Smash Bros. Infinity War Crossover Trailers Have Hit, And They’re Glorious

Several days ago, Nintendo fans were graced with a full Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Nintendo Direct that gave us brand-new details about the upcoming, highly-anticipated fighting game. At the very end of the presentation, we were treated to a little surprise in the form of a cutscene for the one-player adventure mode for the game, and for many, it seemed vaguely familiar.

The trailer showed our Nintendo heroes squaring off against an army of Master Hands, only to get disintegrated one by one. At the time, I pointed out how much it reminded me of the end of Avengers: Infinity War, and not long after, it became clear that I wasn’t the only one making that connection. Fans rushed to their editing stations and put together crossover trailers. At the top of this piece, you can check out one example of this, and directly below you can check out another.

Of course, they’re not perfect, but they’re definitely fun. They have great scope and implied story that would be amazing to watch on the big screen. Personally, I think the first trailer does a better job of actually being an honest to goodness trailer, but both still work on a visceral fan level. Kinda makes me want to see a Smash Bros. movie…though one that would likely have more in common with The LEGO Movie than Avengers: Infinity War.

What kind of Super Smash Bros. movie would you like to see?
