Cue the dark pop music and make sure to get a fresh pair of fuzzy handcuffs, because a new trailer for Fifty Shades Darker, the sequel to the 2015 erotic romance, Fifty Shades of Grey, will be hitting the web tomorrow. The romantic intrigue between the empty vessel of a character Anastasia Steel and the wish fulfillment male lead Christian Grey will continue in this sequel, based on the book of the same name.

Check out the new teaser for the trailer and poster below!

When the Fifty Shades of Grey series first hit bookshelves some years back, it was an international sensation. It had always been a bit of a punchline that a lot of women were reading these erotic books in the past, but with Fifty Shades, that obsession was launched into the mainstream. This trend continued with the 2015 film, which pulled in a meaty $571 million worldwide off its $40 million budget.

Never mind the fact that the movie was poorly received by critics — the audience that fell in love with the books certainly found a lot to like in the adaptation. At the end of the day, it’s the almighty wallet that speaks loudest, and with Fifty Shades of Grey, it was clear that audiences wanted more.

It was a given that the movie would receive a sequel — it was, after all, based on a trilogy of books. What was surprising, however, was that Universal didn’t have another lined up and ready to go as soon as a year following the first one’s release.

Better late than never, I suppose. Fifty Shades Darker will be hitting theaters on February 10 next year — just in time for Valentine’s Day.
