I’m a huge fan of the Rocky franchise. I’m pretty sure I wore out my VHS copies while growing up. I’ll even watch Rocky V (that’s dedication right there). When Creed came out in 2015 I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised by the result which made me excited for a sequel.
What could make the sequel even better? Finding out that it would involve Ivan Drago’s son, Viktor! Now we are talking! Rocky IV has always been my favorite, and what an awesome way to not only bring the storylines together, but also create a possible way for Adonis Creed to find redemption (and possibly some closure) for his father’s death.
The official synopsis for Creed II can be found below:
“Life has become a balancing act for Adonis Creed. Between personal obligations and training for his next big fight, he is up against the challenge of his life. Facing an opponent with ties to his family’s past only intensifies his impending battle in the ring. Rocky Balboa is there by his side through it all and, together, Rocky and Adonis will confront their shared legacy, question what’s worth fighting for, and discover that nothing’s more important than family. Creed II is about going back to basics to rediscover what made you a champion in the first place, and remembering that, no matter where you go, you can’t escape your history.”
