First Look At Emma Stone In Disney’s ‘Cruella’ | D23 2019

“Cruella De Vil, Cruella De Vil.
If she doesn’t scare you, no evil thing will
To see her is to take a sudden chill
Cruella, Cruella
She’s like a spider waiting for the kill
Look out for Cruella De Vil”

For me at least, anytime the classic Disney villain Cruella De Vil is mentioned this song immediately goes off in my head. It’s a featured song from the 1961 Disney produced animated film One Hundred and One Dalmatians. Being that this was one of my favorite Disney films growing up it was hard for me to believe that it’s almost 60 years old. Now why is this song once again playing in my head? Well that is because today at D23 we got our first look at the star of Disney’s upcoming feature film, Cruella, Emma Stone. Take a look at the photo below!

Stone appeared via a video message today at the convention to debut the first look at her character. It was revealed that it would take place in the punk rock era of the 1970’s, which explains the style of the photo. Here she has her iconic two-toned black and white hairstyle and is looking very confident with a couple of goons and a trio of dalmatians. The film is going to give us insight as to why she then decided to start turning their puppies into winter wear.

Cruella is also starring Emma Thompson, Paul Walter Hauser and Joel Fry. The director for this film is Craig Gillespie based on a script that was penned by Tony McNamara and Dana Fox. Marc Platt, Kristin Burr and Andrew Gunn are producing the film.

What do you think of this first look of Stone as the villainous Cruella De Vil? Let us know in the comment section below!

Disney’s Cruella is scheduled to hit theaters May 28th, 2021.
