Former Blizzard Devs Reveal They’re Currently Making A Marvel Game

If there is one aspect of the MCU that has simply not been exploited enough for this fan, it’s the video game market. As a keen gamer, I can think of a load of great ideas for games featuring Marvel Studios take on their iconic superheroes. Yet, we really don’t have anything that’s been very good in the last 10 years since Iron Man began the MCU.

Probably the best received Marvel game has been Spider-Man, which was a PS4 exclusive. None of the other heroes have anything more than cheap budget cash in’s and mobile games and it’s such a damn shame when you look at what could have been done.

There are a few rumors circling around some Marvel games though, which I am hoping might lift things up a notch. In fact, one such game has just been revealed by gaming outlet Kotaku. In a report about new studio Second Dinner, they revealed that the team are currently working on a new Marvel game and had received a $30 million investment from the Chinese company NetEase.

Thing is, this development studio has some real pedigree and are made up of former Blizzard developers who worked on games such as World of Warcraft and Hearthstone. These guys left Blizzard to set up their own studio and haven’t really been heard of since. Now it seems it’s because they have been working on a secret Marvel game.

We have zero details about what this game might entail, or when it may first be revealed, but it’s good to know there finally seems to be some ambition to make good games with this IP.

Do you long for more video games set in the MCU like me, does this give you any hope? Sound off in the usual place below.
