It’s very super.

Former television’s Superman, Dean Cain, and former movie’s Supergirl, Helen Slater, will join CBS’ television show “Supergirl.”

The veteran actors are cast in top-secret roles, according to Variety.

Slater once played Kara/Supergirl in the 1984 movie “Supergirl.” The new television show’s Supergirl will be played by Melissa Benoist. Cain did play Superman/Clark Kent for several seasons in ABC’s “Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman.”

It will not be the first time for both actors to play different characters in a superhero-related project. Both guest-starred in “Smallville” with Slater as Clark’s birth mother Lara and Cain playing Dr. Curtis Knox.

They will join a wonderful cast that already includes Laura Benanti, Chyler Leigh, David Harewood, Calista Flockhart and Mechad Brooks.
