Almost there…Almost there…

That’s right. The deal between Disney and Fox that will bring most of 21st Century Fox under Disney’s control is almost complete, and with it, a deal that seemed pretty much impossible for decades is soon becoming a reality. This will bring many franchises like X-Men, Fantastic Four, and Avatar to the House of Mouse, making it quite the amazing get for the studio.

But how close is it to getting finished? Past comments saw a February-March timetable, and it looks like even recent comments from Fox during the company’s fiscal second quarter reports support this, with them stating “significant progress” in the merger with Disney. Here is the quote in context from Executive Chairmen Rupert and Lachlan Murdoch.

“Our company delivered another strong quarter of financial results, underpinned by distribution and advertising revenue increases at our domestic cable networks and broadcast businesses and the substantial gain on our sale of Sky. These results reflect our continued commitment to excellence in all aspects of our business. There has also been significant progress regarding the transaction with Disney and the spin-off of Fox Corporation including the effectiveness of the Form 10.”

So, yeah, as I stated above…almost there…
