Frozen 2: Autumn Comes In Gorgeous Teaser Trailer

This has been a long time coming. When Frozen first hit theaters several years back, it was a huge phenomenon — one that managed to easily trounce $1 billion at the box office. This may be a regular feat these days with superhero films, but for animation, it isn’t so common. And as of this writing, it still stands as the highest grossing animated film, with $1.29 billion under its belt worldwide.

But what more journeys await sisters Elsa and Anna, and can Disney create a story worth following up its biggest hit? Well, if Ralph Breaks the Internet is any indication, they at least understand how important it is to base a story around a character’s internal growth. It sounds obvious, but it’s something that even the great Brad Bird couldn’t do in Incredibles 2.

Disney has released the first teaser trailer for Frozen 2, and while it’s hard to tell whether or not they accomplished this in the story, it does portray some real forward momentum in the characters. In it, we see Elsa working hard to develop her powers by using them in the ocean. What follows is a gorgeous sizzle reel of action with Anna, Sven, Klaus, and Elsa all heading to what appears to be a land in autumn. It’s all cemented underscored by a new take on the “Vuelie” song, which opened the first film.

The whole thing is incredibly beautiful and bodes well for the actual movie. If you were put off by that one cringey short that aired with Coco a couple years back, I think this will help rekindle your faith in the story to come. But that’s coming from a diehard Disney fan, so take that opinion with a grain of salt.
