Pretty often in Disney films, if you have a character with magic, chances are you’re never really going to understand why they have those powers, where they come from, or any other world-breaking ramifications those powers may bring with them. That was also pretty much the case with Frozen, and in all honesty, that wasn’t the worst thing in the world.

Now, in Frozen II, for better or worse, we will be delving into the “why” behind Elsa’s ice abilities. We’ve already seen glimpses of this in the previous teaser and trailer, but this latest trailer takes us deeper into what we can expect. Check it out below!

Below is the official synopsis for Frozen II:

“Why was Elsa born with magical powers? What truths about the past await Elsa as she ventures into the unknown to the enchanted forests and dark seas beyond Arendelle? The answers are calling her but also threatening her kingdom. Together with Anna, Kristoff, Olaf and Sven, she’ll face a dangerous but remarkable journey. In Frozen, Elsa feared her powers were too much for the world. In Frozen 2, she must hope they are enough.”
