Wonder Woman was one of the few success stories for DC and parent company Warner Bros. so far in the DCEU. The movie was both critically lauded and financially profitable. It’s no suprise that WB fast tracked production on a sequel as soon as possible and thus filming began in June for Wonder Woman 1984.
Now Gal Gadot who plays the titular Wonder Woman has taken to Instagram to announce that filming has finally wrapped on the upcoming sequel. Check it out.

Wonder Woman 1984 will of course feature Gadot and more surprisingly Chris Pine once more, whilst also bringing in Kristen Wiig and Pedro Pascal. We don’t know much about who Pascal is playing, but Wiig is definitely playing the villain Cheetah in this movie.
Wonder Woman 1984 is once again directed by Patty Jenkins and due for release in summer 2020. That’s a hell of a lot of post-production time to be fair, so WB and DC have no excuse for not having the time to get this one right. One would assume they will have some reshoots scheduled for later into next year as the movie begins to take shape behind the scenes.
Like Aquaman recently, Wonder Woman 1984 will likely not feature anything related to DC’s other properties or the Justice League team-up movie, given that in 1984 Superman wouldn’t yet have left Krypton and Batman would be happy living with his parents.
Personally, I never got the whole love-in for Wonder Woman, I thought it a decent, serviceable movie, but nothing special. I am hoping for something a bit more exciting from Wonder Woman 1984.
