Game Of Thrones Actor Isn’t Sure If Tormund Giantsbane Survived

When we last saw the Wildling Tormund Giantsbane, the Night King had just brought down the wall, which Tormund was on top of. The character’s fate is still unknown and likely won’t be revealed until the final season airs sometime next year. Kristofer Hivju, the actor who plays Tormund recently spoke with The Hollywood Reporter and said he doesn’t have his hopes up for Tormund’s survival.

“Realistically speaking, if you’re on top of an ice wall and it’s many hundreds of meters tall … I was a competitive climber when I was younger, and that fall, I must say, it doesn’t look good, man. It really doesn’t look good. I saw an Instagram post somewhere of a guy shoveling through the snow and screaming, “Tormund! Tormund!” (Big laugh.)”

I don’t think the show would kill off a character like Tormund in this manner, but who knows. He has become increasingly popular over the last few seasons and honestly, in my opinion, he deserves better, and we fans deserve to see him go out on screen. If anyone can survive the fall of the wall, it’s Tormund, right?

The latest unofficial word has Game of Thrones airing in mid-2019.
