Unhappy with the ending of Game of Thrones? You’re certainly not alone. While there were some great moments, and great shots (the dragons during The Long Night, and Daenerys wing shot is one of the greatest shots ever in my opinion), overall, the season just didn’t feel right. It seemed rushed and as if the showrunners were simply tired of making the show.
However, there may be hope yet. Kristofer Hivju, who played the Wildling Tormund Giantsbane on the show says an alternate ending was shot. You can check out what he said below while speaking with Metro.co.uk.
“We shot an alternative ending. That was mostly for fun, but I don’t know if I’m allowed to tell you about that.”

By the sound of it, it appears the ending may have been sort of a gag ending, without anything that may help fans who didn’t like the ending. As I’ve said before, I am fine with how things ended for the most part. Bran the Broken, Daenerys the Mad, and Jon going off to live north of the wall, it was just the way these aspects were presented. It was as if Benioff and Weiss had aced a class all semester, and then bombed the final exam, giving them a C in the class.
