Game Of Thrones Season 8 To Put Characters In Alien Environments

Sophie Turner recently broke the heart (albeit unintentionally) of the Game of Thrones fandom by confirming that they show’s eighth and final season won’t premiere until 2019.

Last season was a change of pace from the previous seasons in the show moved much faster than what fans were used to, and according to John Bradley, who spoke with TVGuide and plays Samwell Tarley on the show, Season 8 is set to bring more changes.

Bradley tells TVGuide:

“Each of the characters this year is placed in a completely alien environment at some point in the season that they’ve never been placed in before. The thrill is seeing how they react to it and how they respond… This season, I think, more than any other is stretching these characters.”

Cersei in the cold? Jon is Essos? Bronn in a place where he isn’t the most awesome dude in the room (If he survives Season 8, the guy better get his castle)?

Fans got a small taste of the environment switch in Season 7, with the Westerosi Suicide Squad going beyond the wall, Daenerys in Westeros and, Jon Snow in King’s Landing.

I think the show has always done this with certain characters. Tyrion’s travels have taken him more places than most, but agreed some characters are rarely, if ever, seen out of their main setting.

I would assume (perhaps hope is a better word) that the White Walkers are some of the characters that Bradley is referring to, seeing as how they were on their way to invade Westeros at the end of last season.
