Gemini Man Trailer: Will Smith Is Seeing Double

A couple weeks back, our own Gig Patta had a chance to head to CinemaCon, where he was shown footage for Gemini Man, the next movie from the acclaimed Oscar-winning Ang Lee. Lee is known for two types of movies — Oscar movies and spectacles, and with this latest flick, he is skewing very clearly toward the spectacle, with its sci-fi premise.

Many of us, as Marvel Studios fans, are more than aware of the more recent technological developments when it comes to de-aging actors. Earlier this year, Samuel L. Jackson popped up in his ’90s form in Captain Marvel, and while it wasn’t exactly perfect (it doesn’t really look like how he did in that decade, even if it does look younger), it does the trick. With Gemini Man, Lee is really trying to convince us that we’re looking at Fresh Prince-era Will Smith…so, did it work for you?

Below is the official synopsis for Gemini Man:

Gemini Man (#GeminiMan) is an innovative action-thriller starring Will Smith (#WillSmith) as Henry Brogan, an elite assassin, who is suddenly targeted and pursued by a mysterious young operative that seemingly can predict his every move. The film is directed by Academy Award®-winning filmmaker Ang Lee and produced by renowned producers Jerry Bruckheimer, David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Don Granger. Also starring are Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Clive Owen and Benedict Wong.”
