This past week or two on the DC Extended Universe front seemed to stir up all kinds of emotions inside DC fans. While we’d seen plenty of reactionary responses from Warner Bros. in the past, the recent news regarding a Gotham City Sirens spinoff (and the Deadshot project in development) only seemed to highlight the fact that they’re just throwing things at the wall and seeing what sticks.

In the most recent episode Los Fanboys, Mario expressed his puzzlement at DC splitting up the brand of Suicide Squad, and in removing Harley Quinn, and possibly Deadshot from the equation, it’s removing the elements that worked best. Well, it sounds like there is a possibility for those amazing elements to actually continue on together in Gotham City Sirens.

Speaking with MTV, Will Smith expressed his willingness to join Robbie in the female-focused DC project (via Screen Rant):

“I’d definitely love to be in it. I love Margot Robbie, I would do, like, anything she wants to do.”

While I’m not the biggest Smith fan, even I have to admit that he brought a lot to the table for Suicide Squad. As long as it makes sense for the story, I’d very much be up to see Deadshot and Harley join forces yet again for the flick. While Smith is vague as to what capacity he’d be open to acting, I’d certainly appreciate more than a one-off cameo appearance.
