Guillermo Del Toro’s Nightmare Alley Looks Like It’ll Have A Star-Studded Cast

While Guillermo del Toro may not have the box office appeal of someone like James Cameron (then again, who does?), there is no doubt that the man has had quite the impact on the film industry. In terms of his work’s influence on professionals, it is purely undeniable — and that whole idea was driven home when his most recent film, The Shape of Water, took home the trophy for Best Picture.

Now, he’s lining up his next film, Nightmare Alley, and a new report from Collider indicates that he’ll be getting a fitting, star-studded cast to help bring his vision to life.

For starters, Ron Perlman — who del Toro obviously loves working with — is in the mix to reunited with his frequent collaborator. Also in the mix are Toni Collette and Richard Jenkins. Cate Blanchett and Rooney Mara are being eyed for supporting roles, and Michael Shannon may also be playing a small role.

It’s worth noting that none of these deals have been finalized, but if nothing else, they show the type of caliber of actor del Toro is aiming for.
