Happy Death Day 2U Trailer: Death Makes A Killer Comeback

Last year, Happy Death Day came out, and it was a fun little twist on the basic premise of Groundhog Day…with a twist. This girl died every single day, reliving that same horrific murder until she was able to figure out who was responsible. In the vein of a typical Blumhouse movie, the flick was a high concept, low budget one that really took advantage of its cool premise, and it showed at the box office.

It was inevitable that a sequel would be on its way. We got a poster and title reveal some time ago for Happy Death Day 2U, but haven’t really had an idea of what to expect from the plot. Now, with the release of the new trailer, we know exactly what’s up. One of her friends is going through the same thing, and as soon as she is brought into it, she starts reliving things just as she did before — seriously, the same day as before. And to make matters worse, her friends’ lives are all at stake now.

“Jessica Rothe leads the returning cast of HAPPY DEATH DAY 2U, the follow-up to Blumhouse’s (Split, Get Out, The Purge series) surprise 2017 smash hit of riveting, repeating twists and comic turns. This time, our hero Tree Gelbman (Rothe) discovers that dying over and over was surprisingly easier than the dangers that lie ahead.”
