Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery Invites You To Make Your Own Hogwarts Adventure

We’ve all been there at one point. If you’d read Harry Potter as a young’un, chances are, you at least half-imagined getting your own letter to attend Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Well, it may be about 20 years too late for people like me, but better late than never, right?

With the mobile game Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery, players will be able to make their own characters, cast spells, attend classes, and much more. Hogwarts itself will be made up like the school from the 1980s — which means it’ll be at least a few years before Harry Potter himself goes to school in 1991.

Admittedly, this trailer isn’t too impressive. While the concept seems promising enough, the gameplay mechanics seem pretty limited and stiff. Additionally, the actual graphics of the thing look more at home on an early PS2 game than in a modern mobile game, but let’s hope it’s because they were funneling all their actual efforts into creating genuinely great game mechanics.

Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery will be available on the App Store, Google Play, and Amazon Appstore later this year.

What do you think of this first look? Is this at all promising, or are you too put off by the garish aesthetic? let us know down below!
