Harry Potter: Wizards Unite Is OUT NOW!

Have you been sitting at your desk, twiddling your thumbs, hoping that tomorrow would come and that the mobile game Harry Potter: Wizards Unite would just hurry up and come a day early? Are you still playing Pokémon Go in the hopes that it’ll help fill the Harry Potter-shaped void? Well, if that’s you, then you need no longer sit alone in your tower — you can join in on all the fun that wizardry offers.

Yes, for some reason, in advance of its June 21 release date, Harry Potter: Wizards Unite has been released onto iOS and Google Play. The game comes from Niantic, so as expected, it’s exactly what you’d expect from a Harry Potter-centric version of Pokémon Go. But will it catch in as much as Go did? It all depends on how fans react to it.

I’ve only been playing for a bit, and while there are a lot of similar details underneath the surface, it does feature some nice window dressing that helps make it feel that much different. For starters, it has voice acting that helps walk you through the basics. Like Pokémon Go, it uses your GPS and AR technology, but you may find this one to be a bit more involved, as it requires more hand finesse in “casting spells” things and whatnot
