Hayley Atwell’s Agent Carter Joins Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 7

To be honest, I haven’t followed Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. since the first couple of seasons (like many individuals), but it has prevailed none-the-less.  With Season 7 being the series’ final season, they are looking to add a familiar face who used to have her own limited series, Agent Carter played by Hayley Atwell.  Agent Carter, which I actually thought was pretty good, only lasted two seasons consisting of 18 episodes, but was canceled in May of 2016.  Prior to the cancellation, the character had been seen in Captain America: The First Avenger, Captain America: Winter Soldier and Ant-Man.  Most recently Agent Carter was seen in Avengers: Endgame with good ol’ Cap.

Fandomwire first reported Agent Carter’s return after a rehash of Season 6 (Season 6 spoilers below):

“The sixth season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. ends with Coulson and the gang traveling back in time to the 1930s. It is still unclear whether this is where they will find Peggy Carter, or if more timeline shenanigans will come into play. It is more than likely the latter since Peggy Carter would be around 10 years old in 1930.”

“Rumors have been circling the web the last week of Agent Carter actors reprising their roles in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 7 when actress Ming Na Wen uploaded a photo on Instagram showing personalized bikes gifted to the cast of Season 7. One bike had a tag with the name Enver Gjokaj…the actor who played Peggy Carter’s love interest Daniel Souza in the 2 seasons of Agent Carter.”

Following the above statements, Fandomwire also reported that they had learned that Carter would definitely be in Season 7.

I think this is the right move to incorporate Peggy Carter back into the fold of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.  There should be a decent conclusion to each of the characters which Carter didn’t get from her own series.  The beloved character should get the proper send-off or at least some idea of what she was up to leading to her scene in Avengers: Endgame.

What are your thoughts?  Will you be watching the final season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. now that Agent Carter will be involved, or is it too little too late?  Leave your thoughts in the usual spot, and thanks for reading!
