HBO and the MLB To Team Up Again For Game of Thrones Nights

An alliance has been formed in Westeros and winter is coming…to ballparks around the country! HBO and Major League Baseball have once again teamed up to bring George R.R. Martin’s fantasy world to baseball fans. Last season, over 20 MLB parks were treated to Game of Thrones-type events. Unique concessions, bobbleheads, and costume contests were all part of some of the festivities. The manager for the San Francisco Giants, Bruce Bochy even conducted a post-game press conference while sitting on the Iron Throne.

Not sure how much of a crossover there is for people who are both fans of baseball and Game of Thrones, but apparently there is enough of one to warrant a second season of these types of events.

As most of the people who decided to click on this article know, it will still be quite a while before Game of Thrones Season 8 hits the small screen, so this may provide a sort of hold over for fans itching to get back to Westeros. This is an unusual pairing for sure, but one that I am all for. I love baseball and Game of Thrones, so as odd as this partnership may seem, I say bring it on.

Tickets for the Game of Thrones nights at ballparks are now for sale.
