HBO Will Announce The Game Of Thrones Season 8 Premiere Date This Sunday

After a long wait, it looks like fans of HBO’s Game of Thrones will finally learn the exact date the show will return for its eighth and final season. At this point all fans know is that the show premieres sometime in April. It looks like the information will be revealed in a teaser this Sunday, before the premiere of the third season of another hit HBO show, True Detective.

Well, as for myself and I assume most all fans, we hope it’s the earliest date possible, which would be Sunday, April 7. I mean, let’s get this show on the road right? This information comes from a clever tweet from the official HBO Twitter account. Which has a text conversation involving an HBO boss. You can check out the tweet below.

Taking the #1 spot for my most anticipated film or television series for 2019, the final season should be epic on a scale viewers have never seen. Who will end up with the Iron Throne? That’s anybody’s guess, but the show has shocked us several times throughout it’s run so an truly shocking ending is quite possible, and if you ask me, likely.

It’s even possible no one gets the throne, and they are die. That would be a fitting ending to a series that has repeated it’s philosophy of, “All Men Must Die”. Yes, I know there are a few women in the running for the throne, but I think in this case the term men includes them as well, with Daenerys Targaryen probably being the #1 seed, considering her armies and dragons.

However, Cersei Lannister cannot be underestimated, she is cunning, clever, and ruthless, and has survived thus far. One of the more recent theories I’ve come across has Sansa Stark ruling the Seven Kingdoms when all is said and done.

As far as my excitement for the upcoming season, on a scale of 1-10, this one goes to 11.
