Okay, literary fans. The wait is over. Well, the wait for the official trailer for Fahrenheit 451, at least. After decades of this film being in development hell across God knows how many studios, it’s finally becoming a feature in the form of an HBO original. But just because this won’t be getting a theatrical release, don’t think that means it’s not worth your time.
Headlining this flick are stars Michael B. Jordan, Michal Shannon, and Sofia Boutella. The story takes place in a dystopian future, where knowledge is feared, and books are burned by firemen. In the story, a single fireman, Guy Montag starts to question everything — the world, the system, and the objects they burn. Needless to say, things go a bit awry, and what we’re left with is a struggle of knowledge against ignorance.
The synopsis for Fahrenheit 451 is below:
“Fahrenheit 451 is based on Ray Bradbury’s classic novel. In a future where the media is an opiate, history is rewritten and “firemen” burn books, Jordan plays Guy Montag, a young fireman who struggles with his role as law enforcer and with his “mentor”, played by Shannon.”
