His Dark Materials Trailer: ‘One Girl Will Change Worlds’

Over ten years after the mild train wreck that was The Golden Compass, BBC is taking another shot at adapting His Dark Materials, the controversial fantasy trilogy from author Sir Philip Pullman. There were a lot of things wrong with that original 2007 film, including a rushed storyline, a flipped second and third act, and finally, a watering down in the story’s anti-organized-religion message.

BBC brought His Dark Materials to San Diego Comic-Con, where we got our first look at the ambitious new series, and now, we have another one to feast our eyes on before its…eventual release.

Like many of you, I too am bummed that there still no is official release date for His Dark Materials. Regardless, between its solid cast and visual effects, this could go on to be another one of BBC and HBO’s flagship shows — at least that’s the hope for me.
