Hollywood’s Screamfest Announces Its Film Lineup

The largest and longest running horror film festival in the country, the Screamfest Horror Film Festival, announces on Tuesday its lineup for this year’s annual event. Running from October 9th to the 18th at Hollywood’s TCL Chinese 6 theaters, the event will feature Insidious star Lin Shaye as its ambassador. This year, the lineup will include the world premieres for the films The Amityville Murders and The Final Wish.

The Amityville Murders is written and directed by Daniel Farrands and stars John Robinson (Lords Of Dogtown, Transformers), Chelsea Ricketts (True Blood, Scream Queens) and Paul Ben-Victor (Tombstone, Don Jon). The film will focus on Ronald DeFeo, Jr’s defense that “voices” commanded him to kill his entire family in their home on November 13th, 1974. Also featured at Screamfest will be David Holroyd’s The Haunted, in which “a caregiver’s first shift looking after an elderly dementia patient turns into a nightmare,” as stated by The Hollywood Reporter. Other films included at the festival are Discarnate, Draug, The Golem and more.

The Screamfest Horror Film Festival is responsible for introducing moviegoers to such popular horror films like Paranormal Activity, Tragedy Girls, Tigers Are Not Afraid, Trick ‘r Treat, 30 Days Of Night, Let The Right One In, The Grudge, The Collection, The Human Centipede and Diary Of The Dead. As before, it is highly likely that some of these films may go on to become horror favorites amongst audiences.
