How Deadpool 2’s Mid-Credit Sequence Came To Be

SPOILERS AHEAD for Deadpool 2.

Come on, this is nothing new, most our Deadpool 2 stories today have SPOILERS in them.

You’ve been warned! SPOILERS!!!

If you’ve seen Deadpool 2, you didn’t get to enjoy watching Wade Wilson kill baby Hitler and meet Chris Evans’ Human Torch, as those scenes didn’t survive. What you did get to watch was Deadpool kill X-Men: Wolverine Origins’  mangled version of Deadpool and a foolish Ryan Reynolds reading a Green Lantern script, and save Peter.

Co-Writer Rhett Reese had this to say to CBR about the origin of the  year’s most exciting mid-credit sequence:

“Long story short, when it came down to it, someone had the idea for the time machine, and we just thought, Oh, that’s just too classic.’ How meta can it be when Ryan Reynolds is going back in time to stop previous Ryan Reynolds from taking the Green Lantern movie? When Ryan had that idea of the Green Lantern bit, because he’s so willing to make fun of himself, we just lost it. We thought, that’s the funniest idea ever, and what a great idea to end the movie.”

The mid-credits sequence in Deadpool 2 is getting rave reviews, but what did you think of it? Let us know in the comment section below!
