How Does Star Wars Exist In The MCU If Samuel L. Jackson Is Nick Fury?

Holy crap, that title is enough to make my head spin, but let me take a moment to clarify here. The Marvel Cinematic Universe is its own fictional world. However, in that world, Star Wars is a franchise that exists. However, in a world where Star Wars exists, how is it possible that someone like Nick Fury also exists, considering he looks like Mace Windu — I mean Samuel L. Jackson?

It’s a question as old as time itself — or rather as old as the MCU. And let’s not forget that Donald Glover, who plays Lando Calrissian, is also a part of this universe. What’s the deal with all this? Do different actors play these characters? I know you’ve been dying to hear the answers!

In the latest episode of The Star Wars Show, Avengers: Endgame directors Joe and Anthony Russo give a pretty definitive and straightforward answer.

“They just look like those characters,” Anthony Russo said.

Joe Russo added: “Yes, Nick Fury just happens to look like [Samuel L. Jackson].”

So there you go. A simple answer for a ridiculous question. You didn’t actually think it would be any more in-depth than that, did you? For shame!
