Hulu Orders Kelsey Grammar-Produced Horror Series

Now more than ever, creatives are finding ways to get their art seen and noticed. With the advancements in technology, especially in social media, anyone who can afford a smartphone can create their art and post it for the world to see. Writers have numerous programs and competitions where their stories can be shared and possibly adapted into mainstream entertainment. Especially if your name is Zoe Aarsen.

Aarsen’s story Light as a Feather, Stiff as a Board, which is featured on the WattPad writers community site, has been picked up by Hulu. The series garnered the streaming service’s attention when it was presented by Kelsey Grammar, who came across the story on the site. Hulu has ordered a straight-to-series 10-episode commitment for the project, which will have Grammar as executive producer with his Gramnet Productions, along with other executive producers from Awesomeness TV and Aron Levitz & Eric Lehrman of WattPad. The Wrap broke the story earlier today.

Aarsen had plenty to say about her story now joining the ranks of Hulu’s roster of shows:

“When I first joined Wattpad, I set out to create something unique, exploring characters and a world where female empowerment, friendship, and supernatural forces come together. Wattpad is a place where people come together and connect over stories, discussing every twist and cliffhanger, so it was the perfect platform for my story. Teen horror is my passion, so I can’t wait to be able to share ‘Light as a Feather’ with other horror aficionados on Hulu.”

Light as a Feather is scheduled to begin production this June.
