Iron Man 3 Writer Thinks That WandaVision Will Be Where Mutants Are First Introduced Into The MCU

Now that Fox is owned lock, stock, and barrel by Disney, it means that Marvel Studios has access to every character they created other than those owned by Sony and related to Spider-Man. So fans are definitely wondering just when and where that Mutants will first make an appearance into the MCU before the eventual debut of the MCU version of the X-Men somewhere further down the line.

We don’t have an answer to that question, and it may be some time before we do find out as Kevin Feige has said it could be another five years before we see X-Men back. However, that does not mean that the MCU couldn’t introduce the concept of Mutants much earlier and one person who thinks that will happen is Iron Man 3 writer Drew Pearce. Pearce spoke with Collider recently about a number of topics and one of the things he said, was that he thinks Mutants could appear for the first time in WandaVision, check out our transcript below.

“I would definitely not be surprised if WandaVision is the way they start to bring in, for example, mutants,” Pearce told the outlet when talk turned to Disney’s streaming service.

I can see where Pearce is coming from with this as there seems to be some strange uses of Scarlet Witch’s power happening in this show. From what we can tell, she and Vision may well be in the 1950s and we already know Vision is deader than an expired Parrot. So it is possible that Wanda could do a few things with her powers that could result in the appearance of Mutants? After all, she really has only begun to discover her powers and was probably along with Carol Danvers one of the few Avengers who could defeat Thanos in a one on one.

We must remind you though that Pearce is no longer working for Marvel Studios at this time, so this is not insider knowledge, it’s just Pearce giving his opinion on a possible place for Mutants to first appear. So don’t take this as even a rumor at this time, it’s merely speculation for now. I suppose we will find out a little more about WandaVision as production on the show moves ahead, and maybe that will offer us a few hints as to where this show is going. We also know that Wanda will later appear alongside Doctor Strange in the Madness of the Multiverse, so the events of WandaVision could have some sort of after effect which carries through into the Doctor Strange sequel.

Where and when do you think Marvel will first introduce Mutants into the MVCU, do you agree with Pearce or do you think it’ll be a little further away yet? Leave any thoughts you have in the usual spot below as always.
