Titans: Is Curran Walters Teasing The Joker For A Future Appearance?

WARNING: SPOILERS FOR THE FIRST SEASON OF DC UNIVERSE’S TITANS BELOW

The first season of DC Universe’s first live-action series Titans re-introduced us to a lot of characters. One of these characters was the second Robin that replaced Dick Grayson, played by Benton Thwaites, Jason Todd, played by Curran Walters.

His addition to the series was exciting to a lot of fans because of his brutal history. During the A Death in the Family story arc that ran in DC Comics’ Batman #426-426 in 1988 fans voted to kill off the caped crusader’s sidekick at the end of Batman #427, where Jason was left beaten by the Joker and left to die in an explosion. Of course, like many comic book characters, he did not stay “dead” for long as he was resurrected and became the popular Red Hood.

Why are we bringing this up again? Well, a few days ago Walters posted this image on his Instagram account of the clown prince of crime.

Of course, we know this to be Heath Ledger’s Joker from the 2018 Warner Bros. Pictures’ film The Dark Knight. Which has led us to ask the question, could Walters be teasing the arrival of Batman’s arch nemesis the Joker to the Titans series?

During the final episode of the first season of Titans, we got a quick look of the Joker face down clinging to life when Batman tried to kill him and again on life support when Batman finally killed him. This was all created in Grayson’s mind by Trigon, but it was still great to get a quick cameo of the character. Also, let’s remember that in the same sequence we saw Jason in a wheelchair when he warned Grayson.

I wonder if this has anything to do with the poll that DC Universe took earlier this fall asking once again whether or not fans wanted the Joker to kill Jason or not. Without knowing fans may have been determining the fate of Titans’ Jason Todd in the future. But that is all speculation, only time will tell. Personally, I hope this is just Walters trolling fans because I believe that DC needs to put the Joker away for a while and focus on other amazing characters in their library.

Considering how much Joker we are getting these days in films, shows, and comics, would you want to see the Joker in Titans? Let us know in the comment section below.
