James Franco To Star As Multiple Man In X-Men Spinoff

According to Deadline, Fox is developing an X-Men spinoff for the mutant character Multiple Man. Set to play Multiple Man is James Franco, who will be producing alongside longtime X-Men writer, producer, and now director Simon Kinberg. In the comics, Multiple Man is also known as Jamie Madrox, and has the terrifying ability to clone himself.

On board to write the script for the film is Wonder Woman scribe Allan Heinberg, who is obviously coming off that mammoth success for DC Films and Warner Bros.

Interestingly enough, this movie came out of a collaboration between Franco and Kinberg on a film called The Hardy Men, which is a new take on the Hardy Boys mystery novels. That film was set to star both James and Dave Franco. Apparently, the collaboration went well, and now it’s evolved and extended to this X-Men spinoff.

This isn’t the first X-Men spinoff to come about. Over the past couple years, we’ve seen Deadpool and Logan achieve a lot of success, and that’s set to continue with films like THE UNTITLED DEADPOOL SEQUEL, The New Mutants, X-Force, and eventually (probably, maybe) Gambit.
