While Suicide Squad may have become the big punching bag of the DC Extended Universe, it’s clear there is some real potential in the property. If you bring on board a solid writer (and give them time to write) and director, they have a series with unlimited potential to work with here, and I think we can agree that James Gunn is perhaps one of the best talents they could have brought in.

With The Suicide Squad, Gunn looks to be rebooting the brand (though, from what we know, they won’t be ignoring events from the past film) with an expanded cast — one that Gunn says we shouldn’t get too attached to for obvious reasons.

Now, Gunn has shared a new photo on Instagram with him and some of that cast.

In the photo, from left to write, we see actors Flula Borg, Daniela Melchior, David Dastmalchian, director James Gunn, as well as actors Jennifer Holland, Nathan Fillion, Sean Gunn, and Mayling Ng.

Hopefully, this is enough to sate your hunger for a cast photo, because Gunn clarified that there is no official cast photo planned for the near future. So go ahead and run free with your imaginations as to how these guys’ll look.
