James Wan Steps In To Defend SHAZAM! Director David F. Sandberg

When it comes to the internet everyone is guilty of sometimes going overboard and acting like we know better than the powers that make our favorite films and television shows, not saying we are never right but I am saying that they are in their respective positions for a reason. Despite that it’s important to note that we are all still in fact entitled to our opinions. This is something that the director for Warner Bros. film SHAZAM! David F. Sandberg had to deal with today as he responded to frustrated fans about the fact that there has not been a new trailer for the film yet. But when it was pointed out that Aquaman had multiple trailers by this time, the director for the film, James Wan stepped in and defended Sandberg, check out the Tweet below!

As we know Aquaman somehow became the biggest DC movie ever even passing films like The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises. But as you can also recall people were upset when Warner Bros. waited until Comic-Con International in San Diego to release the trailer. I recall getting ready for WonderCon in Anaheim last year expecting them to drop the trailer there, but that did not happen and I was one of the ones upset.

Wan also pointed out in this tweet that there was a huge negative response when Aquaman‘s release date was moved from October to December. Personally I wasn’t upset at that move, I was just nervous at how well it would do with the other films that were coming out in the surrounding weeks. For example Justice League was not only hurt by being a mediocre film, but by the fact that it was released so close to Marvel’s Thor: Ragnarok. Another thing he points out is that when the trailers were finally released, Aquaman was accused of showing too much. So Wan gives out the best advice possible of “Best thing you can do is ignore all the noise and distraction, and focus on your project and do your best,” Wan finished. “That’s all you can do.”
