Jason Momoa Says He Met With The Russo Brothers For A Villain Role

With the Aquaman trailer confirmed for tomorrow by Jason Momoa, we will finally get our first look at footage from the film. Momoa hopes he can bring DC back into the good graces of fans and build upon the success of Wonder Woman. While speaking with Entertainment Weekly, Momoa revealed that he met with Marvel’s golden boys, Joe and Anthony, Russo about playing a villain in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

“I met the Russo brothers, who are amazing. It was one of the best meetings I’ve ever had. I was going to do something with them, which unfortunately didn’t work out.

As for which villain he was up for, Momoa says he isn’t sure.

“I don’t know. It was going to be a villain, I think. People always want to hire me to play a villain, you know?”

Let the speculation of what might have been begin. Since he has been busy filming movies for DC, it’s likely this meeting for a role in the MCU would have taken place a few years ago, and since the meeting with was with the Russo brothers it is also likely that it was for a role in Captain America: Civil War. Unless he was an early choice for Thanos? Hmm, now that would have been interesting.

Which Marvel villain do you think Momoa would be right for? Let us know in the comments down below!
