Jay And Silent Bob Reboot Builds Quick Stop In Louisiana New Production Video

Jay and Silent Bob are headed back to the Quick Stop in their new film Jay and Silent Bob Reboot…sorta. As many of you know, Quick Stop is a convenience store that was made famous by Kevin Smith’s indie film Clerks way back in the ’90s. Since then, he’s stopped by every now and then for films like Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back and Clerks II.

Given audiences will be transported back to the View Askewniverse in Smith’s new film, a visit to the Quick Stop seemed to be in the cards, but there was one big problem…they didn’t have the budget to make it happen. So what do you do when you don’t have the cash to send the production to New Jersey? You have to recreate it at your own headquarters, and that’s exactly what they did.

In the above production video, Smith recalls the process of making this a reality, and of course goes down memory lane as he does so, leading him to choke up, in a way only Smith can.

“The whole idea was to make stories about people that nobody gave a s**t about, and that was us. And for a quarter of a century now, I’ve been telling those stories over and over again introducing my friends and the world of New Jersey — my fictional New Jersey — to the rest of the world. This is my heart. You’re looking at my heart…I’m a middle-aged stoner so everything f***ing touches me.”
