The Walking Dead is set to return to a TV, computer, or smartphone near you in a few weeks. For the hit AMC TV show’s sixth season, the stakes are set to rise within the town of Alexandria- which is where we left our heroes at the end of Season 5. In the comics, series protagonist Rick gains a trusted adviser in the form of Paul “Jesus” Monroe. According to The Wrap, the series has found just the man for the part.

The character, which is quite seminal in the books, shall be played by Tom Payne. Stateside, Payne is primarily known for his work on the short-lived HBO series Luck. Overseas, he’s known for his role in the British series Waterloo Road. In the books, Jesus is known for both his strong sense of logic as well as his sense of justice.

The Walking Dead‘s sixth season will premiere on Oct 11.
