John Carpenter Isn’t Too Happy About The Big Trouble In Little China Remake

The 80s has its own sort of vibe about it, and that vibe certainly carries over to the films of the decade. Big Trouble In Little China definitely encompasses everything necessary to be a classic 80s film. With an upcoming remake starring Dwayne Johnson in the works, the director of the original film, the legendary John Carpenter, had some not so nice words in reference to the remake while speaking with CinemaBlend.

“They want a movie with Dwayne Johnson. That’s what they want. So they just picked that title. They don’t give a shit about me and my movie. That movie wasn’t a success.”

Don’t hold back Mr. Carpenter, tell us how you really feel. Not knowing the intentions of the filmmakers it is hard for me to get on board with what Carpenter said,  I mean, I can kind of see what he is saying, but I also think he is assuming a lot. The Rock is certainly one of the most, if not the most bankable actor working today. I actually think the Rock being in the film is the reason the idea of remaking it hasn’t experienced much backlash, as many remakes often do.

I mean who doesn’t like The Rock?
