John Wick 3: Halle Berry’s Role, And The Continuing Importance Of Dogs

You gotta love the John Wick franchise. Like many folks out there, I expected the first film to be another Keanu Reeves dud. Given its laughably-silly story, there’s no way it could end up as a surprise kickstart of a franchise, right? Wrong! Somehow, even with its video game-esque premise, it really managed to make me love the character of John Wick and hate everyone who stood in his way.

The upcoming threequel John Wick 3: Parabellum will see the legend of Wick continue, and one of the folks he meets along the way is Halle Berry’s character Sofia.

“She has a past with John,” Reeves told EW. “I end up going to find her to see if she can help me.”

But it’s not just her who will have some importance in this movie. As you probably know, dogs play a big role in this franchise, and that trend will seemingly continue into the third movie with Sofia’s two Belgian Malinois dogs.

“Whereas John’s puppy was symbolic of his wife, Halle’s two dogs are symbolic of someone he’s lost,” director Chad Stahelski told the outlet.

What’s more, they have also reportedly developed an action sequence around these dogs, which is pretty cool. Gotta find a way to keep it fresh, right?
